Learning Through Play
This week, Nursery students explored Halloween through creative activities and classroom decorations. They worked together to make the learning environment festive while developing creativity and teamwork.
Students reviewed the letters Ii and Nn, practiced family vocabulary by making family finger puppets, and enjoyed singing and moving to “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” These activities helped students build confidence in understanding and using familiar English words.
Students made paper pumpkins by cutting and shaping paper. This activity encouraged creativity, strengthened fine motor skills, and provided opportunities to explore shapes and colors.
Through songs, dancing, and classroom activities, students practiced following instructions, sharing materials, and communicating with teachers and friends. They showed growing confidence, kindness, and cooperation during group activities.
There was no cooking activity this week due to the October holiday break.
Next week, students will begin exploring plants through hands-on discovery and creative activities.

Discovering the Natural World
Students learned the letter sound Uu, identified words beginning with /u/, and practiced writing Uu and Hh. In Mathematics, they strengthened their number skills by counting from 21 to 50 through a turn-taking activity.
Students explored the parts of a plant and their functions, learning vocabulary such as roots, stem, leaves, flowers, and fruit. They also went outdoors to observe different flowers, assembled the parts of a flower, and discussed how to grow one.
Students planted chia seeds in eggshells and began exploring what plants need to grow. They practiced making predictions and learned new words, including seeds, eggshells, and water.
Through observation, discussion, and hands-on investigation, students practiced curiosity, turn-taking, and explaining their ideas in English. These experiences encouraged them to ask questions, make predictions, and connect new vocabulary with the world around them.
Students will continue learning about plants and explore the life cycle of a plant.

Thank you for being part of our learning community. We look forward to another week of discovery, creativity, and growing confidence in English! 🌈
